Emergency First Response Instructor
The Emergency First Response Instructor course usually takes one day. It is one of the components of the complete PADI Instructor Development Course (PADI IDC).
The Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) course is a stand-alone progamme and can be completed independently of the IDC. Therefore this course by itself can be scheduled to take place at any time of year.
This qualification’s uses extend well beyond your diving life! Accidents and illness can occur at any time. Basic first aid and secondary care skills are essential for being able to make a difference when confronted with someone who needs your help.
The benefits of having first aid training are well understood by the general public. A qualification to teach these skills will always be desirable.
During the course you will gain experience in how to structure learning; the requirements of performance-based training and your role in the learning environment.
You will also learn how to motivate students; and to deliver course content concisely whilst evaluating retention and performance.
With this qualification you will be allowed to teach:
- Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary Care (CPR)
- EFR Secondary Care (first aid)
- EFR Care for Children (CFC).
In addition to this you will learn the recommended Automated External Defibrillator (AED), emergency oxygen and conscious choking management skills.
