PADI Scuba Diver Course Schedule
The course takes 2 days. We do not have a fixed schedule for when these courses are run. This training is provided on demand meaning that we begin on a day which is convenient to you.
Furthermore there is not need to make these two days consecutive – if you want to break it up then just let us know your ideal schedule and we’ll create an adaptive programme to suit you.
We do not wait until we have a full class before scheduling a course meaning that frequently our students are 1:1 with their instructor.
Each day begins at 09:00. If you have already completed the knowledge development then you will usually be finished by 15:00 each day. If you only enrol for the course whilst already here then you’ll need to complete the Knowledge Development with us. In this case you can expect the course to run until 17:00 each day.

What’s involved?
The PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water courses are divided into three sections: Knowledge Development, Confined Water training and Open Water Dives.
In the full Open Water course these sections are further divided into:
- 5 Knowledge Development lessons
- 5 Confined Water training sessions
- 4 Open water Dives
The PADI Scuba Diver Course involves a little more than half of these sessions. During the PADI Scuba Diver Course you will complete:
- 3 Knowledge Development lessons
- 3 Confined Water training session
- 2 Open Water Dives
If you book your course in advance then we will provide you with access to PADI’s online learning resources. This will allow you to complete all of the Knowledge Development from the comfort of your own home. This will save you from losing out on valuable holiday time while you study!
Having this portion of the course completed in advance also means that each day of the course will be shorter. This gives you even more free time to enjoy with friends and family.
Upgrading from Discover Scuba Diver to PADI Scuba Diver
If you have tried diving through the PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme, then you’ve already started training for a full diving certification!
During the Discover Scuba Dive you successfully completed:
- Knowledge Development lesson 1
- Confined Water session 1
- Open Water dive 1
To upgrade to the Scuba Diver takes only 1 day!
If you have completed the PADI Discover Scuba Dive with us, and wish to upgrade during the same holiday, we will discount 100% of the cost of your Discover Scuba Dive from the cost of the Scuba Diver Course.
Upgrading from Scuba Diver to Open Water
Once certified as a PADI Scuba Diver you’ll be qualified to dive, however you are limited in what you can do and you must always have professional supervision. It won’t be long before you want to upgrade your qualification and earn the full PADI Open Water licence.
In order to upgrade you’ll need to complete:
- Knowledge development lessons 4 & 5 including the final exam
- Confined water sessions 4 & 5
- Open Water dives 3 & 4
This takes approximately a day and a half to complete.
Are you fit to dive?
There are certain pre-existing medical conditions which can increase the health risks associated with diving. Before commencing any PADI programmes if is necessary to first review and complete PADI’s Medical Statement. If you answer ‘No’ to every question listed here then you are ready to begin. If you answer ‘Yes’ to any questions on this questionnaire then you must first visit your doctor and receive a certificate stating that you are fit to dive.
