Castaways Chriggy Dinner And in case you didn’t believe us, here are the Castaway boys enjoying a pre-Christmas dinner tipple, mid-September!
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new boat Chucho Uno (Stingray……. Stingray!) Taking to the Atlantic Ocean 20th September 2006 so we are now able to offer even more of a variety of dive and snorkelling sites even when we are maxed out!
Bon Voyage to our Castaway group (lads from Leicester!) who have been diving with us every day for the past week. It was as much fun this year as the previous, especially when we all tucked into full Christmas Dinner for this year’s trip themed celebrations! That was held in Cheers Bar with Mike one of our weekly resident divers. Nice to see you all again and once again big thanks for all the laughs.
Whilst we are famous for our off-shore natural Dophinarium we can never guarantee sightings. So, on our trip back from diving the ship wreck Meridian we were all dancing like giddy kids when four Dolphins (including one calf) were around our boat. We took to the waters, snorkels and masked adorned, to have these most magnificent creatures swimming freely around us. Diana the trip guide was over the moon as she explained it is something she has only dreamed of doing during her 6 year diving career.
A big congratulations from all of us at Aqua-Marina to Oliver Neale (more affectionately known as Vertigo!) for the successful completion of his Divemaster internship. Oli did himself proud and it was a pleasure and a godsend to have him with us for our busiest summer so far! Good luck with the Uni course and your future diving career Oli! Oh, and thanks for the FAIR-well party!
We're very excited to announce that we have a second boat on order which will increase our capacity and give a choice of dive sites at busy times. The debate of over what to name her rages, but Chucho, which is Spanish for Stingray, is current favourite (Stingray, Aqua-Marina – get it??) Feel free to make other suggestions though. We hope to have her up and running by early September, but as this is Tenerife the actual date remains to be seen…

Under 16's welcome
Finally the long awaited change to the law regarding age limits for diving has been introduced here in the Canary Islands. From now on we will follow PADI standards with regard to age limits and simply require a signature from parent or guardian where under 16's diving is concerned.
Canaries Fish ID book now available
After an extremely lengthy wait we are finally able to supply those fantastic fish books "Diving in Canaries" once again. Written by local expert Sergio Hanquet and featuring beautiful photography, they are a must for identifying what's down there and learning a little of its habits.
