New team member

We are happy to introduce the latest member of the Aqua-Marina crew ? Ines. Originally from Germany, Ines has been living in Tenerife for several years now and is a PADI OWSI. She can teach in German, Spanish and English and drives boats too! A most welcome addition to the team, we hope you?ll meet her soon.

Baby Luca says thanks!

A big thank you to everyone for your warm wishes and gifts and cards for baby Luca. He is feeling most welcome to the world and putting on weight so fast his mum can hardly keep up with feeding him! We?re hoping to get him in a neoprene nappy and off to the local pool for some swimming lessons very soon (we hope he doesn?t hate water!!). Mia is also doing a fantastic job and loving her new role although she does miss you all too (not to mention the diving).

Prices slashed!

We are pleased to announce a price reduction on all our dive packages with effect from May 2008 (see price list on web page for current prices). It means the diving has hardly ever been cheaper here (we thought you could use the help if your converting from Sterling!) And we have some spectacular offers for group bookings so tell all your friends and get yourselves over here for some budget deals (of course the service is not compromised ? you still get to make your own tea J)

Disney Does Diving

Thanks to all the guys and gals from the Disney On Ice show (see picture) for coming down to Aqua-Marina. Even with a gruelling schedule of shows here on Tenerife (and just about every other country on the planet) they managed to squeeze in a days diving with us. We had a blast. No sign of Ariel the Little Mermaid though!

happy xmas

Easy, Tiger!

Congratulations to Neil and Mia on the rather early arrival of their son on 15th February. Little Luca just couldn?t wait until the end of March to get out into the big wide world and so made an appearance 6 weeks early. His penalty was a 5 week stint in hospital, but he has now served his time, and with good behaviour has an early release date of Saturday 22nd March. The fun starts here!

Happy New Year!!

Well we?ve had another fun filled Christmas season including our usual Christmas Day dive with all the trimmings (see photo below). A big thanks to all our customers for your continuing support. It was great to see so many familiar faces again this year, as well as lots of new ones!! We wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope to see you again for more fun in 2008.

Angel Shark season once again

Well the water temperature hasn't dropped that much (currently 20C) but it's apparently enough to satisfy the angel sharks, since we've had several sightings at different dive sites. For proof, check out our home page photo of the month for December, courtesy of long-standing customer Andrew Bellamy. Thanks Andrew, we look forward to seeing more.

The Aqua-Marina tardis

Yes, the wet centre looks bigger than ever, but it's not because we've got Dr Who on the team, it's simply that Neil and Steve had the most enormous clear-out and removed the huge kit rail that divided the centre in two. So we now have a big open space AND we also magically seem to have more places to keep stuff. How does that work?? Anyway, this is stage I of a bit of a renovation that will take place during the winter months - we hope you will be suitably impressed when you see it. We've also managed to source some non-slip matting which we are testing for practicality at present.

Licences

Having just re-read the news entry from a few months ago about how optimistic we were about the licences we are waiting for, we can now acknowledge that it was all a bit premature. It seems there is always a bit more required - right now it's new doors. But we really do feel that we are edging closer. As the saying goes, it's like eating an elephant - you just have to take one bite at a time.

Baby

Neil and Mia are delighted to announce that they are impatiently awaiting the arrival of their first baby in March. Judging from his appetite and regular bouts of kick-boxing all appears to be going well. How long before he's in the water, I wonder??

Aqua-Marina welcomes back Aqua-Marine

It was great to have back with us the girls and boys from the dive club Aqua-Marine recently. They all enjoyed their second visit to the north of the island to do some more dives on the Westburn wreck (see picture) and in fact they like it so much they want to do it for a third time next year! Of course with a name like theirs we are the obvious choice of dive centre for them on Tenerife. It was great to have you with us again folks, thanks for coming and hope to see you all again soon.
